Kojima may have graced us with a new trailer, but we now have more questions than before.

When Kojima was removed from Konami back in 2015 everyone was wondering what he would do next. It wasn’t long before we found out that Kojima would create his own studio Kojima Productions with the help of Sony and that he would immediately start on his next project. Most assumed that this next project would be a stealth title in a similar vein to Kojima’s pride and joy the Metal Gear series. However in 2016 we were shown a trailer for Death Stranding is next big project. Of course like anything else Kojima has worked on the trailer wasn’t straight forward. In fact after watching that first trailer multiple times I was left scratching my head confused as to what I just saw.

Fast forward to 2019 and here we are with another new trailer hitting right before E3. This trailer being touted as a gameplay and release date trailer with a runtime of over 8 minutes of footage is just as confusing as the one we were treated to back in 2016. With footage of shadow creatures, Norman Reedus, and fetuses in glass tubes. Reedus riding a futuristic motorcycle through a field while having a conversation with the President of the United States, or how about the scene with Mads Mikkelsen singing to what I have to assume is the character as one of the previously mentioned fetuses. In fact the only thing I’m sure of after watching the trailer is the release day November 8th 2019. Other than that I’m still highly confused as to what the hell this game is going to be about. As strange as it is to say though that’s what has me more and more excited for this game.

We live in an age where most video game trailers basically spell out what the game is. Leaving you basically knowing full well what your in for before even getting past the start screen. However with Death Stranding I don’t have a single clue and that to me is a feeling that has me excited. Ive watched all of the trailers for the game multiple times, I’ve discussed with friends and other gamers and you know what, they too are excited by the unknown when it comes to the game. Some may hate the way Kojima has gone about with the trailers for Death Stranding, but not me I’m invested and I’mall in. On November 8th 2019 I will be hooking up to my BB and seeing what the hell this game is actually about.
