My Predictions for Nintendo’s E3 Direct.
It’s that time of year again, yes the E3 season is just around the corner. With the coming of the season of course comes with rumors and predictions of what’s gonna be shown and announced at the E3 show. Here’s my predictions for what Nintendo is gonna be bringing to E3 2019.
1. Release Dates
We have been shown quite a few titles from Nintendo with in a the last year. Where Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Fire Emblem, and Astral Chain all have release dates set there’s still a few heavy hitters that just have the nebulous date of 2019. I believe that at this year’s show we will see release dates for Luigi’s Mansion 3, Animal Crossing Switch, and Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening. These are all huge in house titles that Nintendo is working on and they’ve so far been adamant that they will have release dates within this calendar year so E3 is the perfect time to unveil the release dates for these huge Nintendo games.
2. Metroid Prime Trilogy
I know, I know this collection has been predicted time and time again, and Nintendo has not shown any proof this collection exists. However with the delay of Metroid Prime 4 due to development being moved from one team to the team at Retro Studios its not looking like the fourth title in the series will be ready any time soon. What better way to satiate Metroid fans as they wait for the release of Metroid Prime 4, we’ll that’s easy you give them the a remastered collection of the first 3 games on the switch.
3. SNES Games Coming to Nintendo Online System
Ok I know that this is also something people have said before but there’s good reasoning. Not to long ago dataminers came across a list of SNES titles listed within the code for the Online System not to mention there was a listing online for Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. So with that said there’s a lot of credence for this rumor. The timing would also be good on Nintendo’s part considering that there has been a lot of people dissatisfied with the online services of the switch and the game offering for the Nintendo Online System
4. Smash Bros. Roster Update
So even though we just got Joker here recently, I still believe that we are going to get another character. I also will go out on a limb and say it won’t be just an announcement it will also be a shadow release for the end of the direct. The character I think we will be getting is the long rumored Erdrich from the Dragon Quest series. To me the timing makes sense with Dragon Quest 11 launching on Switch this summer. Yes the series isn’t as popular here in the U.S. but over in Japan this series is a giant.
